Standing Tall

empowering minority & low-income changemakers

Standing Tall (now Young Human Rights Changemakers) is a pilot program focused on empowering minority and low-income changemakers. The Standing Tall Program pairs minority and low-income students with university students. Participating students meet with their mentors once a week for a period of six weeks to receive academic guidance and assistance in creating a project that positively impacts the community. Students also receive micro grants of up to $200 to help them complete their community projects.

Combining academic guidance, career mentorship, and project development will allow participating students to grow both personally and academically. Students will also develop valuable workforce and entrepreneurial skills such as communication, budgeting, leadership, teamwork, and responsibility.
